Who I am. James Cochrane, candidate for Middle in the 2026 House of Keys General Election. I am the data controller for information submitted through this site, registered with the Isle of Man Information Commissioner since August 2026 (registration number R923348, valid to 4 August 2027). What I collect and why. The issue you describe, the area of Middle it relates to, and — only if you choose — your name and contact details. I use this to understand what matters to people in Middle, to reply to you if you’ve asked me to, and to send campaign updates if you’ve opted in. I publish only aggregated statistics (e.g. “38 people raised GP access”), never individual submissions, and I apply formal anonymity thresholds before publishing any breakdown so that no submission can be traced back to a person or household.

Legal basis. Your consent, given by submitting the form and by the boxes you tick. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing me.

Who sees it. Me. Submissions go to and are stored in my own Microsoft 365 account (UK/EU data residency). This website’s public pages are hosted by Vercel, which serves pages only and holds no form data; providers act solely on my instructions, under contract. Nothing is shared with, sold to, or visible to anyone else — no party, no campaign team member without an equivalent duty of confidentiality, no third-party marketing or analytics tools (this site sets no cookies and runs no trackers).

How long I keep it. Everything is deleted by 31 October 2026, whatever the election result, unless you have opted into campaign updates — in which case I keep only your contact details until you unsubscribe.

Your rights. You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for a copy, ask me to correct or delete it — email me and I’ll do it within a week. If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Isle of Man Information Commissioner.
